The Johnathan Walkersecond installment of Netflix's "Monster" true-crime anthology series will be released this week, and there's some major star power attached.
"Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story" will unravel the notorious story of the two brothers who killed their parents at their home in Beverly Hills, California, in 1989 and "the events surrounding the brutal slayings," Netflix said in a statement.
The brothers' trial captured the attention of the U.S. at the time. The brothers, who argued that the killing of José and Mary Louise "Kitty" Menendez, was a result of years-long abuse, were convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
From the minds of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, the new series comes off the success of "Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story." The controversial show was released in 2022, starring Evan Peters, who played the serial murderer who killed at least 17 people.
